Indiana physicians! I’m excited to announce that two speakers from Physician Speaking by KevinMD, Drs. Lynette Charity and Nicole Swiner, will be conducting a day-long physician wellness workshop at the Indiana State Medical Association’s 2019 Annual Convention.
Entitled, Building Your Wellness Toolkit, this two-session workshop is led by two of the nation’s leading experts on clinician burnout.
Lynette Charity, MD is a dynamic and energetic speaker who uses her talent as a masterful storyteller to teach fellow physicians how to recognize the three most prevalent symptoms of depression, how to redirect the negative voices that may cause us to do harm, and how to react to today’s health care soap opera with laughter.
C. Nicole Swiner, MD is among the nation’s top experts on self-care, physician burnout, and well-being and was voted one of 10 best doctors in North Carolina. She has written two best-selling books, including How to Avoid the Superwoman Complex — the false belief that one person can be all things to all people, perfectly.
Being a physician is a gift. We have the opportunity to save lives and change lives for the better. We also work long, emotionally and physically demanding hours, during which patients’ lives may be at stake. All of this can take a toll on physicians’ well-being. If you’re looking for new ways to thrive personally and professionally, you won’t want to miss the ISMA’s pre-convention physician wellness workshop. CME credit will be offered for this event.
