Smucker Barnwell PhD

Sara Smucker Barnwell is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical director of behavioral health, 98point6. She can be reached on LinkedIn and at her self-titled site, Sara Smucker Barnwell PhD.

Dr. Smucker Barnwell provides evidence-based psychotherapy and consultation in the greater Seattle area, and her research and publication interests focus on the ethical intersection of technology and evidence-based therapies. She aims to increase patient access to care through the use of technology without sacrificing care quality and safety.

She received her doctoral degree from the University of Southern California, completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Seattle VA Medical Center, and later led the Seattle VA Telemental Health service. She also holds degrees from Harvard University and Wellesley College. Dr. Smucker Barnwell has also served on several national task forces to provide guidance to the profession of psychology in the ethical use of technology.

Dr. Smucker Barnwell is the author of "A Telepsychology Primer" and co-author of "Telepsychology: A Primer for Counseling Psychologists" and "VA Puget Sound Telemental Health Service to rural veterans: a growing program."
