Congress overrides the Bush veto of the Medicare bill. We get an 18-month reprieve from physician payment cuts, then a 20+ percent cut is due in 2010.
At that time, the AARP will grow stronger and continue to ally with physicians in blocking any Medicare cuts.
A powerful force indeed.
