  1. Whole Grains Reduce CVD, Total Death Risk. Eating a diet rich in whole grains was found to be associated with lower total mortality and deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD), but not cancer.
  2. Tight Control Lowers Death in Type 1 Diabetes. Tight glucose control has a legacy effect of reduced mortality.
  3. Parental Suicide Attempt May Predict Kids’ Risk for Same. Having a parent with a history of suicidal behavior was associated with a nearly five-fold greater risk of suicide attempts among at-risk children and adults, even after adjusting for family history of mood disorder.
  4. Knee OA May Accelerate in Patients Slated for TKA. Almost 30% of patients who undergo total knee arthroplasty (TKA) experienced rapid disease progression and worsening of osteoarthritis (OA) symptoms during the 2 years leading up to the procedure itself.
