Why heart and brain must work together for love

Come sit down and I will start
To tell a tale of Harvy heart,
And how his feud with Brian brain
Flushed their friendship down the drain.

Brian brain and Harvy heart
Were never very far apart.
Harvy fast and Brian slow,
They worked together, don’t you know?

Then one day they had a spat
Over whom to point their loving at.
Harvy thought that he should lead
Since hearts are much like trusty steeds!

Brian brain thought he was best
Since loving was kinda like a test.
He knows if all love is true,
Calculating as brains do.

Now Harvy wouldn’t let this go!
After all, a heart should know
Which love to choose,
It’s in his blood,
So Harvy did what no one could.

In a fury and a rage,
Harvy started beating strange.
Brian brain had sensed a change
And nervously became deranged!

An all-out war between the two!
Harvy, then, a clot he threw!
Up and up, up to the brain
Brian would never be the same.

A lovers’ spat, a raging war
Their friendship now was deeply torn.
Onlooking organs watched in terror
At Brain’s computation error.

The limbs went limp,
And speaking stopped.
His mouth drooped low.
His body dropped.

Everyone was in a panic!
The lungs both gasped!
The nerves went manic!

Brian had suffered a stroke,
And had trouble clearing the throat,
All this due to Harvy’s clot.
Brian could not complete a thought!

Then suddenly eyes opened wide.
A surgeon went to look inside.
Harvy went under sedation
From all the doctor’s medication.

A silent slumber then ensued
As the doctors then removed
A giant clot from Brian’s head.
If not for them, he would be dead!

When finally they both awoke,
Harvy paused and then he spoke,
“I didn’t mean to treat you bad
I know I hurt you and you’re sad.

I know we will never be the same,
Me as a heart and you as a brain.
Forgiveness is what I want to ask.
I know it’s not an easy task.”

Brian, now was thinking straight.
Harvy left it on his plate
For him to decide if he’d forgive,
After all, he still did live.

As Brian mulled it over well,
The eyes started to tear and swell.
He’d never been so hurt before
From his one heart, his ‘mi amor.’

“Harvy, I’ve been hurt before,
But not from someone I adore.”
Brian talked and illustrated
Harvy’s faults that he had hated.

Harvy listened carefully.
He knew Brian had made a plea
For him to repair what had been lost.
Their fight had come at quite the cost.

“Brian brain, you thinking head
Were it not for you I would be dead.
It is you who sets me straight
And tells me if I’m beating late.

I will make this up to you.
I will send our blood on through
With hosts of cells to make you right!
Again, I’m sorry for our fight.”

Brian said, “Harvy old friend
I’m sorry too, I didn’t bend
I was so stuck on who to love
It’s you I should have be thinking of.”

With that, Harvy gave a little flutter,
And Brian softened up like butter.
Two friends coming back together
Both feeling light as a feather.

For grudges are not good to hold.
They tend to make one harsh and cold.
Besides, love comes from heart AND brain.
It is not good to restrain …

Those witty wits, that mushy love
Of both heart and brain up above.
For who can really take apart
A thinking brain and beating heart.
