  1. Flu Vaccine: A Matter of Time. The flu vaccine was about 23% effective this season.
  2. Supreme Court Spars With Both Sides in Subsidies Case. The Supreme Court pummeled both sides with questions during Wednesday’s oral arguments over the fate of the subsidies granted to people enrolling in health insurance through federally run insurance exchanges.
  3. Combo Regimens Active in Advanced Kidney Cancer. A fourth of patients with advanced clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (RCC) responded to treatment that simultaneously targeted two pathways involved in the disease’s pathogenesis.
  4. AAMC: Big $$ Needed to Forestall Doc Shortage. The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) released new projections for physician supply and demand, and requested a heavy lift from Congress to help curb the physician shortage — though some critics questioned the new estimates.
