Political crushing of dissent at the medical journals

It’s generally acknowledged that the major medical journals, like the New England Journal of Medicine and Annals of Internal Medicine are biased in favor of the political left.

It seems that any attempt to openly discuss or criticize a single-payer health plan is met with close-minded resistance, evidenced by how this dissenting letter submitted to the Annals of Surgery was treated:

The reviewer apparently believed that it was out of bounds to question either the morality of single-payer health care or the alleged fact that it yielded “equal or better results” than the American system. Of course, these were the very points that we believed needed to be challenged and discussed in an open fashion.
