  1. OA Patients Don’t Face Higher Heart Disease Risk. Neither radiographic nor clinical osteoarthritis (OA) was related to a greater risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD) in older patients.
  2. Senators to Providers, Industry: Lobby Harder on End-of-Life Care. A strong coalition is needed to transform care for the dying, said U.S. senators from both parties at a conference on policy and payment systems around end-of-life care.
  3. Acne Improves Without Use of Antibiotics. One-third of patients with moderate or severe acne in a large randomized trial had significant improvement in acne severity and lesion count with an antibiotic-free topical gel versus placebo.
  4. LA Fast Food Ban No Fix for Obesity. A controversial “fast food ban” in some of the poorest neighborhoods in Los Angeles, enacted in 2008, has had little impact on the health or weight of the residents there after 7 years.
